Claim Your Power in the Age of Aquarius

If you’re an astrology nerd like I am, then you know that Pluto (the planet known for growth and evolution) moved into the sign of Aquarius on January 20th for the first time in 226 years!

(And it’s gonna stay there for the next 20 years!)

Get ready for some change, folks!

What all the big time astrologers are forecasting (check out Pam Gregory on YouTube) is a lot of personal transformations that will make a global impact.

Humans are going to start waking up — some already have — and we are going to see people challenging the long held norms that governments, and even financial institutions, have held over us.

I believe that one way that we, as a human collective, will challenge these norms is by proving the Lie of Scarcity to be exactly what it is — a lie. A falsity spread over millennia by “the people in charge.”

The Lie of Scarcity can be found in various aspects of life, but for the purpose of this post, let’s relate it to money.

The Life of Scarcity is the belief that resources are inherently scarce, leading people to a mindset of competition and fear about not having enough money.

This plays out worldwide in a variety of ways:

  • Pervasive poverty mindset where people believe there are limited opportunities for economic advancement

  • Certain areas of the world have strong social class structures that seem difficult to break

  • Generational poverty, when someone believes that because their family has always been poor, this is how their own destiny will play out, too

  • People’s limited access to financial education

  • Gender disparities (equal pay, ladies?)

  • Cultural taboos or negative perceptions around wealth accumulation (money is the root of all evil)

  • Prevalent corruption perpetuated by economic injustices

  • Government & economic instability (screamed about on the news constantly)

We’ve been seeing all these things play out around the globe, not just through the lens of history, but in our daily lives.

But now, we really are in the Age of Aquarius, and there is going to be a power shift – from those who’ve been spreading the Lie of Scarcity, back to “The People.” You, me, and those we love…

The Collective.

But you have to step up as an individual and CLAIM THAT POWER. Command that power!

Because the truth is that there are opportunities, resources, and wealth available to you at any given moment, especially if you live in the western world.

I’d like to make clear that I’m not taking credence from systemic issues related to race, gender, war, or any other inequalities playing out in the world.

All I’m saying is that shifting your mindset from scarcity and lack to, instead, focusing your thoughts on abundance, trusting that there is enough for all of us, can and will open up a whole new world of possibilities.

Possibilities for a version of you that feels resourced and has the ability to help others feel resourced, too.

So, how do you claim your power in your finances?

Be Accountable.

  • Take responsibility & ownership for the role you’ve played in your financial situation.

  • Don’t make excuses or blame external factors.

  • Pay attention to what you are doing with your money.

Challenge Your Own Perceived Limitations.

  • Find someone you know who has overcome financial challenges & achieved success through innovation, creativity or perseverance and who gives back to their community.

  • If you don’t know of anyone personally, pick a public figure you know who had limited resources and somehow still managed to achieve extraordinary success (i.e. Oprah Winfrey, J.K. Rowing, Dolly Parton ~ all of whom happen to be amazing philanthropists)

  • Make this person your mentor, a real life example of what is possible when you refuse to let your current circumstances be the glass ceiling.

Begin Again.

  • Life is just a bunch of cycles! You always have a chance to start over (a new month, a new quarter, a new year… a new DAY)!

  • When you try something and “fail,” use what you perceive to be failure as a lesson instead. (You always get one of two things — what you want or the lesson you need.)

  • Apply the lesson the next time around.

Resolve to Achieve Your Vision.

  • Define your vision clearly. What do you want? What are your values? How will your finances align with your life’s mission? WHY do you want it?

  • Your vision is what is going to keep you motivated. It’s your WHY. (Hint: it’s not the money; it’s not having more money. Your vision needs a higher purpose.)

  • Check in with yourself regularly to make sure you’re staying on track with what you’ve set out to achieve.

Start claiming your power now! It’s the Age of Aquarius, after all. There’s never been a better time in our lives to claim our power as individuals and in community.
