7 Questions for the Visionary with No Plan

Are you a visionary who feels like you’re already behind in creating your business plan for this year?

Guess what… it’s not too late!

Yes, the end of January is already here. (Where did the time go?!) However, we humans have this really weird obsession with linear time, and the truth is…

The only time that really matters is the present moment.

SO.

You didn’t create the biz plan.

Your social feeds are maxed out with other entrepreneurs who are already killing it.

You’re not sure what your goals even are this year, and here’s everyone else, leaving you in the dust.

I’ve got you.

Here’s a fun little exercise to get you focused on how you want this year to unfold.

Grab your notebook, my friend. I have seven questions for you.

  1. What is the current state of your business?  (How many team members; how are your sales looking?)

  2. What is your current personal state? (What’s working, what’s not working, what could be working better? Think about it with “ease” in mind.)

  3. What does your business look like one year from now? (Visualize! The finances, how you’re spending your time, who you’re reaching.)

  4. How committed are you to achieving that one year vision? (Rarely are we 100% in because we’re human & self doubt can get in the way. Think on a scale of 1-10 for this question.)

  5. What would it take to be 100% committed? (More staff, more time, a business plan, a bigger operating expense account, outsourcing projects, etc.)

  6. Have you done a SWOT Analysis? (Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities, Threats… Go on, list those out! Check out the link above for a deeper dive into what the SWOT Analysis is.)

  7. Can you begin with the end in mind? This often means reverse engineering your calendar to meet specific goals. Or it could mean stating how much revenue you’d like to generate and building monthly goals to reach it. Write out a plan with the end in mind that works for you.

I suggest giving yourself at least a couple hours to work through these questions.

Doing your SWOT Analysis is going to tell you a lot about where you are now + where you’d like to be, and is likely where you’ll spend the most time.

I know, I know… you’re busy.

But there are 168 hours in every week. Dedicate two of those to making a plan and I promise you will reap the rewards!
